Delfi Cruces is an inspiring self-taught painter who began creating art in her sixties after retiring from her role as an X-Ray Technologist and Mammogram Specialist. She was born in Pinar del Río, Cuba, and moved to the US in 1966. It had always been a dream of hers to become an artist, but it wasn't until the early 2000s that her journey began. Delfi is self-taught and occasionally trained under the guidance of Spanish artist legend Alberto Pancorbo to refine her skills. Over the course of 20 years, Delfi has become a familiar face in the local art community, exhibiting in many art festivals and shows, and completing commissioned projects for the cities of Hialeah and Miami. She enjoys working with canvas and oil paint for their texture and vibrant colors, but she has also experimented with acrylics on murals and furniture. Her work celebrates the beauty of Mother Nature, often depicting female faces surrounded by florals and sea life. Her paintings are bright and vibrant, radiating love, life, and nature. She says, "Painting for me is like oxygen or food. I spend most of my time creating, and that is my favorite part of the process." Delfi Cruces is a living testament to the power of passion, hard work, and determination, having achieved success late in life and serving as motivation for all those around her.
